So the Forward Youth website is launched! I really hope you make use of this website and enjoy using it.

Please note however that the website is new and will take some time to get running fully, and there maybe an odd spelling mistake or dead link here and there. To help me can you email me if you find anything wrong.

Also, I will be continually looking to improve and add to this website, so if you have ANY ideas for new features (doesnt matter how crazy they are) I maybe able to work my magic and make those ideas reality! how cool would that be? If you have and ideas or suggestions please again email me.

Hello!

by Ben Cook on march 20th, 2008

Welcome to Forward Youth, please have a look around our website, take a look at what we do and why we do it and leave some comments in the Forum.

Who are we?

We are a growing Youth Congregation in Dorridge and Bentley Heath, Solihull. Our main aims are to make church a fun place to be and to make the message of Jesus Christ relevant to young people living in the 21st Century.

How do we do that?

We do this in many different ways! We run cell groups for young people in all years of high school, a monthly youth congregation called Forward, an outreach project for the young people in the surrounding area and residential weeks away. Have a look at each section for a more detailed run down of these events.

Why do we do this?

Dorridge and Bentley Heath is blessed with so many young christians who have a real passion to see God working in their own lives and in the lives of young people living around them. Our goal in Dorridge and Bentley heath is to live our lives dedicated to doing what we see our father doing (John 5:19) and God is moving in so many ways in our area! We want to be a youth movement that follows our churches mission statement - a group of young christians who are committed to growth, rooted in Jesus, fruitful in mission and service.

Through this mission statement we want to be a group of young christians who are looking at our faith in three ways, Upwards, Inwards, outwards:

Upwards: Our relationship on a personal level with God is the most important thing, we need to be a group of people who constantly come back to the cross, the message of Christ and the love of our father to build ourselves up, receive the holy spirit and to give God the worship he deserves. To be ‘Rooted in Jesus’ we run weekly cell groups for different school years, here young people are encouraged to learn more about Jesus and to deepen their relationships with God. We also run a youth congregation, a church service for young people but without the boring bits.

Inwards: As a youth group we need to be ‘Together’. We need to accept that yes, we believe in God but also believe and accept that God believes in us. God made us all as individuals ALL with different gifts, and ‘’together’ means we should build each other up, demolish worldly barriers and become the godly, faithful, humble and powerful people that God created us to be.

Outwards: We recognize that the communities of Dorridge and Bentley Heath need love and TLC just as much as any area, Looking outwards seeks our youth group to work within our communities, spread our amazing faith in order to see God change peoples hearts and add to the kingdom. Being ‘Fruitful in mission and service’ asks us to serve our community and serve the people within it. Check out the Revolution Outreach Project for ways in which we are trying to do this.

I hope you have a good look around our website, and I hope to see you at one of our events in the future!

with Love
